Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Comforting Arms different from other in-home care companies?

At Comforting Arms, we're not like the ther nursing homes, we help our clients and families fall in love with the future. Many times when we meet with clients, they feel like life has passed them by, and that life is less meaningful. In every assessment, we ask the question, “What are you known for being good at, or what are you famous for?”  Often, the client’s answer is “nothing really,” but the family will quickly respond with specific accomplishments, cherished memories, traditions, and joys they have shared over the years. The client is often assured that he/she did have a good and fulfilled life and that he/she did make a difference in the lives of others.

Our caregivers begin to cherish every day, and family members gain peace of mind when our compassionate caregivers help with such things as light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation and personal care.

How can I be sure that the caregiver will be on time or even show up?

At Comforting Arms, we use a telephony system that alerts us if a caregiver hasn’t shown up for a scheduled visit. We can quickly arrange to call your caregiver or arrange for another person to cover the shift.

What happens if we are not happy with the caregiver you send?

Comforting Arms does its very best to assign the caregiver who we think will be the best fit.  If at anytime, you are not satisfied, for any reason, Comforting Arms will immediately remove that caregiver from your service and send someone else.

What services do you provide?

Services are customized according to each individual’s specific needs, and can include personal care assistance, medication reminders, light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, transportation, transitions from hospital or rehab to home, respite care and more. For a complete list of our services, visit the Our Services page.

What if my caregiver is sick and cannot make it to my house?

You will be offered the option of having a replacement caregiver for the day.

Will I have a choice of caregiver?

Based on your service requirements and schedule and the availability of our caregivers, we select a caregiver we feel would be a good match for your loved one. You can also request a "meet and greet" where you can meet the caregiver before fully committing to starting services.

How quickly can I arrange for service?

Depending on caregiver availability, care can be arranged in as little as 24 hours; less if possible.

Will I be able to reach comforting arms staff after-hours?

Yes. Simply call our office number 678-819-3775 any hour and any day of the week and someone will be happy to assist you.

How do I know if I need homecare services?

There is a link for the self-assessment which will take you to the current website page.

Are your caregivers insured, bonded and background checked?

Yes. Comforting Arms carries liability and worker’s comp insurance on all caregivers. Local and National criminal and medical sanction background checks are also performed.

Is your agency licensed?

Comforting Arms is licensed by the state of Georgia since 2013.

Are your homecare services covered through Medicare or medical insurance?

  • Comforting Arms is not a Medicare-certified agency, and because our services are considered non-medical in nature, they are not covered by Medicare.
  • Some medical insurance policies cover home care services. Check with the customer service department of your insurance carrier.

What are my payment options for your services?

  • Services are mostly private pay
  • The VA Aid and Attendance benefit can be used to pay for our services. Contact your local Veterans Affairs office for more information
  • If you have a Long Term Care Insurance policy, some if not all of our services may be covered

How much does service cost?

Comforting Arms prices are very competitive and are generally charged by the hour. Prices vary and are determined at the time of the care consultation.

Do you require a minimum commitment of hours and days a week in order to provide care?

No, you choose, in consultation with Comforting Arms staff. We will work with you to determine the appropriate care needed.

Our Mission

Our mission at Comforting Arms is for our clients and families to fall in love with the future. When we meet prospective clients, they feel like life has passed them by and think life does not have much meaning anymore.

In every in-home consultation, we ask the question, “What are you known for being good at; What are you famous for?” So many times, they will answer with “nothing.” However, once we start probing, especially with the family members, the prospective client realizes they had a good, rich life.

Sincerely,
Phil Graiser
